TYGA JUNIOR SUMMER OUTDOOR COURSE 2013
Wandsworth Common, Sunday 30th June
On Sunday 30th June Grandmaster Gary Wasniewski held the Summer outdoor course on Wandsworth Common, South London. Nineteen students attended from Earlsfield, Greenford and Kensington clubs, supported by instructors Sensei Dev Nayak, Sensei Mukta Manro and Sensei Sam Haynes. The sun shone down on one and all, as they practiced hard on their kata, self-defence and sparring techniques, working towards their next grading. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn directly from the Grandmaster, whose spectacular sparring demonstration with each of the instructors amazed everyone, attracting a crowd of admiring spectators.
It was also great to see young people from across London coming together to share their passion for TYGA, growing in confidence and ability, proud of their effort and achievements. At the end of the course the children took part in a sparring competition, showing strong TYGA spirit as well as many impressive winning techniques. The Grandmaster kindly awarded all those present a certificate and medal, in recognition of their achievements on the day. The Grandmaster agreed that this needed to be a regular event in the TYGA calendar. We all look forward to seeing this course grow next year and wish to thank the Grandmaster for his invaluable support and guidance on the day.
